Rembrandt Hotel, Bangkok, was honored to have the opportunity to help enlighten the futures of some of the underprivileged youth of Thailand. In collaboration with UNICEF, Rembrandt Hotel is proud to be part of the Youth Career Development Program (YCDP).

This year, the YCDP is supporting 27 students from schools in rural areas and associated with the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under the Royal patronage.

Rembrandt Hotel has recruited two students for a 20-week hands-on training program with the objective to instill knowledge and skill sets in order for them to have brighter futures filled with opportunities.

This life-changing initiative by UNICEF began in 1995 and Rembrandt Hotel has been a partner since 2009. We hope to continue to fulfill our responsibilities in the society.

Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok won The HolidayCheck Award 2013

As the second consecutive year, the Rembrandt Hotel once again is awarded as one of the 99 most popular hotels worldwide with a 2013 HolidayCheck Award, the largest German speaking travel and holiday portal on the web.

The HolidayCheck Award is awarded on the basis of hotel reviews that were submitted to HolidayCheck by travelers that have stayed in the hotels. It recognizes the extraordinary performance of dedicated hotels and staff. The award-winning hotels have to exceed guest’s expectations regarding great products and perfect service on a daily basis.

The hotels that are qualified for the awards have to meet the requirements such as receive at least 40 hotel reviews in 2012 for travels in 2012, maintain at least a recommendation rate of 90 percent, a minimum of 5 suns plus and have no detectable manipulations.

Same as last year the winning hotels are divided into 7 categories: Country’s No. 1, Beach Holiday, City Trip, Winter Sport, Spa, Family and Couples. The winning hotels are selected based on a formula with three criteria included Number of reviews, Recommendation rate and Suns awarded in each category.

Rembrandt Hotel is the only hotel in Thailand that has been selected to receive the City Trip Award.

Rembrandt Hotel welcomes the new members of culinary team

The team here at Rembrandt Hotel would like to take this opportunity to introduce and welcome our newest associates, Executive Chef Jaume Esperalba and Executive Pastry Chef Lionel Bonnaud.

Chef Jaume is a dedicated and talented chef who possesses true flair and creativity with considerable experience in all cuisines. Before joining the Rembrandt, he has been working as an Executive Chef at five stars, high-end luxury resorts and restaurants around the world including Michelin-stars restaurants Drolma in Barcelona, El Raco de Can Fabes, La Ciboulette Restaurant, Luculo, Dusit Thani Maldives, Soneva Kiri Resort and Soneva Fushi.

After 30 years of experience in kitchens around the world, he embarked on the challenge of working in Thailand to learn its food and style. From Spain, he has taken the skills and knowledge of different cuisines and adapted these to the produce of Thailand, by offering a healthy and mouthwatering cuisine prepared with fresh and organic ingredients.  The award-winning Spanish Chef will arrive on Monday, April 15th to strengthen the Rembrandt’s culinary team.

Executive Pastry Chef, Lionel has been involved in the hospitality industry for over ten years with exceedingly diverse exposure. He has a wealth of knowledge about all things pastry and an obvious passion for his creations.

Other experiences Lionel has acquired through a number of five stars hotels, including Grand Hyatt Mumbai, The Constance Halaveli Resort Maldives, The Dusit Thani Lake View Egypt, The Chedi Chiang Mai, three Michelin-stars Le Jardin Des Sens Hotel & restaurant and much more.

Rang Mahal is awarded the Top Tables 2013

Congratulations to Rang Mahal, the rooftop Indian restaurant at Rembrandt.  It is being selected for Bangkok’s Top Tables Guide 2013 for the second consecutive year.

The Bangkok’s Top Tables Guide 2013, the most exclusive and honest listing of best restaurants in Bangkok by BK Magazine.  BK magazine is known as the hard-hitting reviews, where reviewers don’t call ahead, don’t sit with the chef or PR and pay for their meal.

This year only 89 restaurants have made it on the 2013 guide. It is towards better recognizing restaurants that offer an outstanding, unique and creative cuisine. It is reviewed by a panel of foodies, bloggers, journalists and F&B professionals.

According to BK Magazine, Rang Mahal is known as one of the best Indian restaurants in town, Rang Mahal serves royal Indian cuisine in a maharaja themed décor. A traditional Indian band is very entertaining and the service is impeccable. BK picks the mouth-watering butter chicken as the must try dish.

Rang Mahal receives consistently favorable reviews from in-house food and travel writers as well as foodies, restaurateurs and suppliers in term of the elements of quality service, atmosphere and good food to provide an eating experience a cut above others in Bangkok.
